Job Title: Starbucks Barista

Compensation: Hourly $20.00
Job Summary:
As a Starbucks Barista at Big Valley Starbucks, you will create the Starbucks Experience for our customers by delivering exceptional customer service, expertly crafting beverages, and fostering a welcoming store environment. This role requires high energy, attention to detail, and a passion for creating moments of connection with customers, one cup at a time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers with a friendly, approachable attitude and deliver outstanding service in a fast-paced environment.
- Prepare quality handcrafted beverages and food items according to Starbucks recipes and customer modifications.
- Operate POS system to accurately handle cash and card transactions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store, including café area, workstations, and restrooms.
- Follow all operational policies and procedures, including those for food safety, store safety, cash handling, and inventory control.
- Support store operations by assisting with stocking, restocking, and product rotation.
- Actively participate in team development by attending scheduled trainings and contributing to a positive team culture.
- Engage with customers to build connections, understand their preferences, and anticipate their needs.
- Uphold Starbucks’ mission and values through positive interactions with coworkers, leadership, and customers.
- Other duties as requested.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous customer service, food service, or retail experience preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be 16 years of age or older.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Work is performed in a café/retail environment with exposure to food and beverage preparation.
- Frequent standing and walking throughout shift; occasional lifting and carrying of up to 40 lbs.
- Must be able to operate espresso machines and other equipment safely.
- Exposure to hot and cold temperatures, as well as cleaning and sanitizing chemicals.
- Requires the ability to multitask, bend, reach, twist, and use repetitive hand and arm movements.
