Job Title: Maintenance

Reports To: Assistant Manager, Store Manager
Hourly Rate: $18.00
Schedule: Varies; includes weekends, holidays, and evenings
Position Summary
The Maintenance Worker is responsible for the overall cleanliness, sanitation, and maintenance of the Big Valley Market and Fuel facility. This position ensures that all store areas including restrooms, coolers, food service areas, and stockrooms are maintained in a safe, clean, and functional condition throughout the day.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
All duties should be performed every 30 minutes to 1 hour or as needed.
• Rinse out all drip trays
• Clean and stock bathrooms
• Sweep and mop the store
• Vacuum all carpets
• Wipe down front doors and door handles
• Face store shelves and check/remove expired food
• Wipe down cooler doors
• Wipe down counters, cabinets, and drink machines
• Grab and clean go-fridge and remove expired food
• Take out all garbage and recycling from walk-ins
• Clean out floor drains with bleach and hot water
• Stock and organize all cleaning supplies
• Wipe down and sanitize soda nozzles (graveyard shift)
• Wipe down and rinse coffee pots and dump grinds
• Restock donut case and wipe down
• Clean up spills and hazards immediately
• Stock cups, lids, coffee creamers, and condiment areas
• Face and stock coolers, sunglasses, 5-hour energy drinks, and related items
• Assist with basic upkeep of fixtures, plumbing, and other store systems
• Put out orders and clean all stock areas
• Report any maintenance concerns or repairs needed to the Store Manager
Work Environment:
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours)
• Regularly required to bend, lift, reach, climb, and carry items
• Frequent exposure to cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, and wet surfaces
• May be required to work in cold storage areas or outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Fast-paced retail environment with frequent interruptions and interaction with staff and customers
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required for cleaning or maintenance tasks
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Customer service experience is strongly preferred.
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to follow instructions, adhere to safety procedures, and use cleaning equipment.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and have good communication skills.
• Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 40 pounds during shift.

• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
• Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening per tribal policy.
