POSITION SUMMARY
The Marketing & Media Coordinator is responsible for planning, developing, and executing marketing strategies to promote the Big Valley Rancheria Commercial Center and its associated businesses. This role manages digital and traditional media, including social media platforms such as Facebook, website content and design using platforms like WordPress, and visual marketing using tools like Canva. The Coordinator also represents the organization at community events, manages branded merchandise, and supports outreach efforts to increase visibility, customer engagement, and revenue while supporting overall economic development initiatives.
Position Highlights
- Manage social media, website content/design (WordPress), radio adds, magazine, watch fire and Canva-based marketing materials
- Lead marketing efforts for the Commercial Center and its businesses
- Attend and represent the organization at community events and outreach activities
- Create and manage content across digital, social, and print platforms
- Oversee branded merchandise creation and promotional materials
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketing & Media Coordination
- Develop and execute marketing strategies across social media, email campaigns, TV/radio ads, billboards, and website platforms
- Manage and update website content using WordPress or similar CMS platforms
- Perform basic website design updates, page creation, and content optimization
- Design marketing materials using Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite
- Track website performance and user engagement using tools such as Google Analytics
- Design, create, and manage branded merchandise to support marketing campaigns and community outreach
- Research, order, and maintain inventory of promotional items and merchandise, ensuring alignment with branding and budget guidelines
- Coordinate with vendors for merchandise production, pricing, and delivery timelines
Community Outreach & Event Promotion
- Represent the Big Valley Rancheria Commercial Center at community events, local fairs, vendor markets, and outreach activities to promote services and increase public visibility
- Plan, coordinate, and participate in outreach efforts that highlight Commercial Center businesses, including Market & Fuel, Starbucks, and other economic development enterprises
- Promote current offerings such as fuel pricing updates, in-store promotions, and Starbucks products and specials to drive customer traffic and sales
- Maintain and regularly update website content, including daily or routine gas price updates, promotions, events, and business information, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Develop and execute event-specific marketing strategies to increase attendance, engagement, and brand awareness
- Set up and manage event booths, displays, and promotional materials, including branded merchandise
- Actively engage with community members, customers, and partners by providing information and promoting services, products, and upcoming events
- Distribute marketing materials and promotional items to maximize outreach impact
- Build and maintain relationships with local organizations, vendors, and community partners to expand outreach opportunities
- Identify and pursue new event and partnership opportunities that align with business and economic development goals
- Gather feedback and insights from community interactions to support and improve future marketing strategies
- Coordinate event logistics, including scheduling, materials, staffing, and vendor communication
- Track and report on event performance, including attendance, customer engagement, and overall effectiveness
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field or equivalent certifications or training experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in marketing, media, or communications
- Experience managing Facebook, WordPress (or similar website platforms), and digital design tools such as Canva
- Valid California Driver’s License
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with WordPress website management, content updates, and basic design
- Familiarity with HTML/CSS and website back-end systems
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and Google Analytics
- Experience managing promotional merchandise or marketing inventory preferred
