Status: Full-Time
Compensation: Hourly $18.00

Job Summary:
The Deli Clerk is responsible for the preparation, presentation, and service of fresh food items in accordance with food safety standards and store policies. This role ensures that deli items are well-stocked, properly labeled, and attractively displayed, while maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment. Outstanding customer service and attention to detail are essential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Create and prepare food items according to established recipes and portion sizes
• Stock, rotate, and face deli products in an organized and sanitary manner
• Ensure all food products are properly labeled and stored in compliance with food safety guidelines
• Clean and sanitize all food prep surfaces, equipment, and utensils
• Follow all state and local food safety regulations and handling procedures
• Provide prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable service to customers
• Assist with inventory checks and restocking as needed
• Maintain the deli area in a clean, organized, and hazard-free condition
• Follow store operating procedures and uphold brand standards
• Maintain communication with management regarding supply needs and maintenance issues
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds unassisted and stand for extended periods

Work Environment:

• Food service environment requiring attention to detail
• Exposure to hot surfaces, sharp equipment, and cleaning chemicals
• Regularly required to stand, bend, lift, reach, and carry items throughout shift
• Work performed in both refrigerated and heated prep areas
• Required to follow health and safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed

Qualifications and Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Prior experience in food service or deli operations is a plus
• Must have or be able to obtain a valid food handler’s certificate
• Ability to follow recipes and verbal/written instructions accurately
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays
